Scholarship Program

YOUNG PEOPLE WHO CARE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Each year, up to five finalists belonging to the Young People Who Care Awards will be eligible to apply for scholarships or grants to assist them in the following areas:

Education

Education grants will support Young Carers finalists with a primary course of study or with courses that help to develop their education and career path or educational aids that are essential for courses of study (such as books, computer equipment, calculators etc).

Community

Community grants will support activities, projects and innovations currently being run or new initiatives proposed by the Caring in the Community finalist or Caring Together group finalist.  The primary purpose or objective of the activity must be to help, assist, support or benefit members within the Western Australian community, either at a state, regional or local level.

Eligibility

Individuals and groups that are selected as finalists will be eligible to apply to the Scholarship program for up to three years following the Award ceremony attended. 

Young Carer finalists will be eligible to able to apply to the Education category and Caring in the Community, and Caring Together Award finalists will be eligible to apply for Community funds.

How to apply

Up to $1500 of funding can be applied for (*please note full funding requested will not always be granted.)

Application rounds will be offered twice a year and finalists can apply at each round, however finalists will only be able to receive funding on one occasion per year.  The first round will close 28 February 2012 with grants approved in March 2012.  The second round will close by 31 July 2012 with grants approved before the end of August 2012.
